From Ken Capo himself...
"I've played baseball my
whole life, and I was always disappointed when the fields I played on were
in poor condition. My promise to you is that I will strive to make
the fields at Capizzo's the best they can be."
Recent
improvements to our fields include the following:
- The homerun fences
were lengthened and raised to be USSA compliant (plus they look
great!)
- The infield was resurfaced
three times and soil condition was added (a clay and sand mixture
specifically made for infields).
- All new breakaway bases and
a safety first base to minimize injury were added.
- Replaced 2 sets of lights
for better night vision.
- New rakes and drags for the
infield were obtained to keep the soil level to create an even
playing surface.
- Community sponsors added
their signs to the fence for a true ballpark feel.
Future
Plans
- Adding conditioner
to the back field and resurfacing.
- Addition of warning tracks on
both fields.
- Addition of right field
screen.
- New centerfield scoreboard.
